Those You Just Can’t Tame

by Duncan Jones

I got another compliment last night

A mighty fine thing to say

Sure it feels great, like I'm done with the wait

But everything's still the same today

I've heard it before, "Hey, you got any more?

Because that one was pretty damn good!"

Their intentions are nice, it's probably good advice

Well, I've never done what I should

So it's back to the rhymes ticking by with the times

No dollar's ever bought any more

And while I've been sittin' tryin' we just lost another lion

One day, boys, we're gonna settle the score

Gotta have no shame and talk about your own name

But I'm the one who's gotta live with me

Oh the instafame world seems to work for pretty girls

In the end it ain't a way to be

I can hold the crowd without a single word loud

For a moment kinda like the new king

With smiles and hand shakin' and a bit of picture takin'

Just imagine if I could sing

So it's back to the rhymes ticking by with the times

No dollar's ever bought any more

And while I've been sittin' tryin' we just lost another lion

One day, boys, we're gonna settle the score

Another middle of the night and only bills in sight

Soon it's gonna have to pay off

Or maybe being broke is a part of the joke

Hard to tell if you're close or way off

No it wasn't mama's plan that I'd be workin' with my hands

To me I guess it's all the same

Yeah we can wipe off the dirt and put on a polo shirt

But there are those that you just can't tame

So it's back to the rhymes ticking by with the times

No dollar's ever bought any more

And while I've been sittin' tryin' we just lost another lion

One day, boys, we're gonna settle the score
